Finalists at British Parking Awards

The North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP) has been announced as finalists in three categories for the national British Parking Awards 2020.Having won three awards and been finalists in another two categories at the British Parking Awards last year, NEPP is keen to continue its success by highlighting other successful elements of the organisation’s work to the judges.

Councillor Mitchell, Chairman of On-Street Parking at the North Essex Parking Partnership, said:
“I’m incredibly proud that once again we have been shortlisted for multiple categories at the prestigious British Parking Awards, recognising our innovative and effective approach to our communications, customer service and partnership working.”

The ‘Parking Partnerships Award’ recognises the importance of partnership working in the parking sector. The submission showcases how NEPP has continued to innovate and advance since we won this award in 2019, with a number of new areas including 18 new projects to improve parking and information across the area, including bay sensors, variable messaging signage and creating additional parking areas.

The ‘Communications Award’ category recognises imaginative, engaging and informative approaches to communicating with the public and other organisations. The NEPP has been shortlisted for its messaging linked to the national Positive Parking Agenda, including a new series of five videos outlining the work of our organisation, improvements to our online services, and promoting our MiPermit smart parking account.

The ‘Parking as a Service Award’ recognises how parking providers can create a positive experience for motorists. The category rewards work done by parking providers to create easy-to-understand, non-confrontational and person-centric services. NEPP’s entry for this category focusses on how NEPP has ‘joined-up’ its front-facing and internal processes, policies and communications to create a positive experience for motorists by delivering simple, easy and accessible services.

The British Parking Awards, originally launched in 2002, seeks to recognise and celebrate best practice, innovation and achievement in the design and management of both public and private sector parking. The 2020 winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Friday 6 March at Royal Lancaster, London.
